Wild Foods of the Boise Foothills

Foothills Learning Center - Sunset Series

(adult education)

The Boise Foothills are alive -- and they can keep you alive just in case. Join local naturalist and author Ray Vizgirdas as he shares his passion for all things edible in the foothills. The evening will include a walk in the nearby hills to observe, identify and learn about wild edible, medicinal, and useful plants as well as entomophagy - the practice of eating insects. Yum-yum… Mormon crickets for breakfast!

Ray is the author of "Guide to Plants of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks" and the award winning "Wild Plants of the Sierra Nevada". His depth of knowledge and easy teaching style make this an evening not to be missed!
