Monarch Butterfly Excursion - Sold Out/Full - Parks, Monarchs & Milkweeds Date: Thursday, June 15th Time: 6:00pm - 7:30pm Location: Kathryn Albertson & Ann Morrison Parks Event is FREE, but space is limited. Pre-Registration Required. Click Here to Register at the Eventbright page: Monarch ExcursionNo Pets Please For those interested in learning more about the Monarch butterfly and what the City of Boise is doing to help with the monarch's plight, Boise Parks & Rec invites you to join a monarch excursion on June 15, at 6:00 p.m. during which, you will learn the ins and outs of the monarch butterfly, it's habitat, and visit areas that the City is protecting and monitoring for breeding monarchs. The monarch butterfly has gained national attention, due to a substantial decline in its population since the mid-1990’s. Studies show that over 80% of the monarch population has disappeared over the past two decades, largely attributed to herbacide and pesticide use and habitat loss. As such, we would like to invite you to join Boise Parks & Recreation staff on a monarch butterfly excursion of Ann Morrison and Kathryn Albertson Parks, to learn about this amazing insect. The excursion will touch base on the decline of the monarch, how they live, what the City of Boise is doing to help bring the population back, and what you can do to help with the effort.
All ages are welcome. Further instructions will be provided to those who register.
