Bitterbrush Seed Collection Volunteer Project

HRWMA is looking for volunteers to help collect Bitterbrush seeds.  The timing is dependent on the seed condition, which explains this short notice.  The seeds you collect will be grown out as small plants to be used to restore wildlife habitat in the Harris Ranch Areas.

It’s simple, easy and fun.  We will provide the equipment and train you how to use it. Mike Pellant, ecologist with the HRWMA will direct the seed collection and provide information to help volunteers learn the native and non-native plants in the west Boise foothills and their importance to area wildlife.

Please RSVP by June 10!  Call Debbie at (208) 515-7413 or email debbie@harrisranch4wildlife.org.

Location
: Meet at East Junior High (5600 E Warm Springs Ave) at 6:30 pm and we will drive to the collection site on Idaho Fish and Game land that is located just north of the River Heights subdivision.

Requirements:  Adults and children 7 and older are invited to volunteer.  Leather or other durable gloves are recommended for the seed collection process.  Wear footwear and clothing appropriate for hiking.

Conservation Fee Refund

Eligible Dallas Harris Estates and Mill District homeowners will earn a $100 refund by volunteering for this project. Participation Forms will be provided to claim the refund.
