Beginners Bird Walk Bethine Church River Trail

Join our community partner Golden Eagle Audubon Society for a monthly beginner and family-friendly bird walk along the Bethine Church River Trail.

This monthly bird walk is targeted towards beginner birders, so if you are brand-new to birding, this is the class for you! Expect to see songbirds, waterfowl, woodpeckers, herons, and kingfishers. The bird walk is also a great opportunity to learn about riparian habitat with a focus on local birds, plants, and stewardship efforts along the trail. Topics will cover basics like adjusting your binoculars, how to use field guides, and tips & tricks to identifying birds. 

The bird walk is 1 to 2 miles long on flat terrain. Please bring binoculars, otherwise let us know and we can lend you a pair.

Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and wear comfortable walking shoes. All participants under the age of 18 yrs old must be accompanied by an adult. Note: No public restrooms are available.

NOTE: The bird walk requires Two Levels of Pre-Registration for all participants. Please do not show up for the event if you did not pre-register online. 1.)
