Join Golden Eagle Audubon for a different kind of birding experience. "Pause, Look & Listen" incorporates a mindful approach to observing birds and being present in nature. The opportunity to connect with nature in a small-group setting hopes to encourage personal observation and reflection. We will spend part of the trip sitting as a group to observe what birds we can see and hear while doing so; we let the birds come to us. In some instances, we may choose to bird slowly along an an accessible path on the festival grounds. (Path includes a combination of pavement and firm unpaved walkway, less than 1/4 mile in length with little or no incline.) Multiple sets of eyes and ears always enhance the experience.
All birding levels are welcome. This event is appropriate for those with limited mobility and/or visual impairment. Binoculars will be available if needed.
Participants younger than 18 requires that a parent/guardian sign a liability release. Persons younger than 10 may find the slow pace distracting.
Time: 9:00 - 10:00 am
Meeting Place: Idaho Shakespeare Festival's parking lot next to main entrance. 5657 E Warm Springs Ave, Boise, ID 83716. The offices of ID State Parks & Recreation are adjacent to the parking area. (Click on "Meeting Place" to get directions from your location.)
What to Bring: In January and February, cold weather ia almost a certainty. Dress warmly. Bring a portable chair + a blanket or whatever you like to enjoy some time being (mostly) still in nature. No dogs please.
Restroom Availability: There are no open restroom facilities on site. The nearest restroom is at the Chevron on Warm Springs Avenue, 0.6 miles west.
